I’ve owned various solar lights for security and to keep watch on my dog. I have always set my lights to dim until motion brightens them for 15 seconds. Previous lights would function for an average of 3-4 hours. The Aootek lights stayed on all night AND their dim setting is as bright as my other light’s bright setting. I will be ordering more. I’m hoping that they continue to amaze me. I will do an update after I have had these for a while.

The lights work really well and I am very happy with them. The only problem is I have them located on my 4 ft. fence and the angle of the light does not shoot out more into the yard. I just have to add a piece of wood behind the light to raise the angle to do this . Still give them 5 stars, Happy cust.

I glued strong bar magnets to the back of these lights and had 2 on each side of my van for security. I was amazed at how bright they were and how responsive the motion detector setting was. Perfect for what I needed however I have used them for 4 months now and 1 is now dead, and 2 others are very dim. Disappointing for the price (I think I paid $80 plus Canadian) and what I thought was a perfect solution. Too bad.

To reduce expenses and to help protect the environment, in early 2021 our household started taking a number of measures to cut our energy consumption. Those measures have proven successful: total 2021 electricity consumption in our single-family, detached home in the US SE was about 8,000 kWh (3,200 of which was for HVAC), compared to about 11,000 kWh annual average in previous years.
The installation of solar outside lighting is part of our strategy, allowing us to save over 150 kWh/year. We are very happy with our easy-to-install, durable Aootek solar lights, as well as with another set of solar lights we purchased from Amazon: Solar Lights Outdoor,WWimy 210 LED 2500LM Motion Sensor Lights with Remote Control, 3 Heads Security LED Flood Lights, IP65 Waterproof, 270° Wide Angle Illumination Wall Lights with 3 Modes (2 Packs): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08T9F2MM1
Our lights, installed last fall, are all performing well over 6 months later. We shared some of these lights with relatives in the North; they also report that their lights are going strong after a rough winter. Here in our urban, sometimes crime-troubled setting, we like the fact that our lights shine extra bright when motion (possible thieves…) is detected. Our relatives use their lights on their chicken yard; those lights shine bright when a different type of intruder comes by.
Here are some other products we purchased at Amazon that we can recommend to those interested in cutting home energy consumption:
STATINT Window Film Privacy One Way Daytime Mirror Static Non-Adhesive Solar Glass Film Heat Control: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W3VCZNF Dramatically reduces amount of direct sunlight, gives privacy by day, and protects from shattering.
Kuman KW47-US Electricity Usage Monitor Plug Power Watt Voltage Amps Meter with Digital LCD http://www.amazon.com/Electricity-Monitor-Voltage-Overload-Protection/dp/B07DPJ3RGB Looking back, we can say that purchasing a Usage Monitor Plug has been one of our wisest and most useful moves, and a very inexpensive one at that.
Klein Tools TI250 Rechargeable Thermal Imager: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089QW8R9S This tool, along with the Usage Monitor Plug, gave us a very good picture of where we were wasting energy. It was thanks to this tool that we realized, for example, that our then uninsulated recessed lights were really problematic, prompting us to purchase the following.
FF130E Recessed Light Cover: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XVPUAO If you have recessed lights and they’re not well insulated in the attic, energy wastage can be massive. These were easy to put in, sealed with Great Stuff: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KSANBTY
AcuRite Wireless Indoor Outdoor Temperature and Humidity Sensor: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T0K8NXC We got two of these to go with our AcuRite weather station. They allow us to monitor temperature and humidity in four places at once: outside, in our living room, in our crawlspace, and in our unfinished attic. Thanks to these readings, we have established a smarter, more energy-efficient way of ventilating our crawlspace. They also helped us see that our attic needed additional ventilation in the roof, prompting us to purchase the following.
4 SEASONS Solar Powered Polycarbonate Vent, Weatherproof Design, Quietly Cools Up to 500 Sq Ft, 400 CFM: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DMSCPJA
RYB HOME Room Darkening Patio Door Curtain, Hanging Room Divider Screen Insulated Drapes Privacy Wall Panel: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D32DJ2V , as well as RYB HOME Blackout Curtains & Drapes – Total Privacy Thermal Efficiency Backdrop Curtains for Bedroom Room Divider Vertical Blind Living Room Patio Sliding Glass Door: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077SZRBNJ

easy to install, bright. Sometimes not sure what setting they are on when you first install because there is no label to the button, just a button you press that goes through different settings each time you press. take it in a dark closet to figure it out. The motion detector works only at close range, but that’s okay. They light are way to the trash can at night. We have them set on low, and they go bright when you walk by, but only for 15 seconds.

I had these lights in my first house, and they always worked so well for three years. Just moved into a new house and installed it again. They are well made, can light up all night long, are easy to install, and come with a great template to make drilling in the screws easy and accurate. And they just work. I love having them all around the. the yard which seems so dark at night. The dogs light them up so I can see or I can walk around and see. Great product thank you so much!

I have a very dark corner in my backyard. These lights are amazing. Super bright and they have different settings for your needs, I have one light stay on all night and the other three I have as no toon detection as the one single light is bright enough for me to see the area well. I get up really early in the mornings and take out my trash and it’s great to have so much light in that dark area. I love love these lights. They are light weight but very durable. I’m going to buy another set and line my entire fence with them.

Solar powered/charged motion detector lights have really improved over the years and these motion detector lights — the Aootek New Solar Lights 120 LED’s, have small, very bright LED’s that are quite powerful and work well. The units are smaller than older solar light motion detectors we had, and these are also much brighter, even when the older units had more LED’s.
The Aootek motion detector lights are now protecting our vehicles in the front driveway. They charge during the day in the sunlight and three of the lights are activated by motion only, while the fourth light is set to put out constant low level light and then gets brighter if something activates the motion sensor. Well made and light weight, we installed a couple of the units using ‘hot-melt glue’ from a glue gun and another unit was installed using plastic cable ties fastened around a post and through the mounting holes on the light.
The battery life on these devices is always suspect and over the years we’ve replaced the Lithium ion batteries in a couple of solar lights that were still working well when the batteries failed. A soldering iron, a new battery holder, and some way to fasten the battery holder in place (we used hot melt glue), and you can replace the rechargeable batteries yourself adding to the longevity of these solar lights. When the Aootek lights batteries start to fail we will be sure and put these lights back into service because they are a good product.

I really liked these lights until we got a heavy rain and water got on the inside and a few of the lights went out and rust set in. I’ve only had them for 6 weeks but I couldn’t return them through Amazon due to the 30 day return policy. now for the hassle of reaching out to the company to try to get a replacement.
